Class-action lawsuit (2024-01-22)

As in the class action “Cashback Service Smarty Charges Consumers for Unwanted Monthly Subscriptions”, one plaintiff alleged that she cancelled during a 14-day trial but was still charged for two more months. [1]

A large number of complaints against SmartyPlus have been filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). These consumer accounts consistently describe confusion over how the subscription was initiated, difficulty identifying the charges, and challenges in stopping payments.[2]
