Around 2005, Shoney's faced a class action lawsuit alleging violation of Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 under title III.[1] The lawsuits claims on 21 May 2005, two customers, with one having a disability, were ordered to leave Shoney's due to bringing a service animal. The case reach a settlement on 13 July 2006. giving the plaintiffs $1,000 and pay $5,518.16 in attorney fees.[1] In addition, it also required that one of its restaurants location(2303 Carmack Blvd) provide individuals with disabilities equal access to services and in 60 days have a sign that reads,"Customers with disabilities accompanied by their service animals are welcome."[1]
