Contents3
Lyca Mobile offers mobile network access which has in recent times arguably become a basic necessity for access to ordinary, social, legal and financial life.
Revolut is a global financial technology company offering services such as bank accounts, debit cards, credit cards, currency exchange and peer to peer payments. Many choose Revolut for its ease of use and free accounts.
In January of 2025 Revolut created a deal with Lyca Mobile introducing automated subscription payments enabling "automated subscription management, where recurring payments process without manual input."[1]
Background
Revolut is a global financial technology company headquartered in London and founded in July 2015 by Nik Storonskiy and Vlad Yatsenko. As of March 2026, Revolut has over 70 million customers and supports transfers across more than 160 countries and regions. It was valued at $75 billion in November 2025. Its services include bank accounts, debit cards, credit cards, currency exchange, stock trading, cryptocurrency exchange and peer to peer payments.
Lyca Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) operating in 18 countries, with headquarters in the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka. It provides international pay-as-you-go SIM cards. The company is chaired by Allirajah Subaskaran, who formed the company in 2006. As an MVNO, Lyca Mobile does not own its own mobile network but instead leases radio frequencies from established network operators. It has also established mobile virtual network aggregator (MVNA) arrangements in certain regions.
[Incident]
In 2025 someone reported to have purchased a "LycaMobile starter pack" while in the UK using Revolut Pay but realized two months later that their account was still being charged due to "auto-renewal". The person also mentions that the "Block future payments" button explicitly doesn't show up for LycaMobile in the Revolut app[2] (which is the only interface for Revolut asside from the web app which severely lacks features[3])
