First Press Games not producing goods paid for
Contents6
First Press Games is a limited physical game production company that (almost) never sends out anything they claim to be selling even after 3-6 years of waiting for them to produce it.
Background
First Press Games is a German company that sells physical video games in limited production runs.[1] They are one of the many companies who sell these sort of limited pre-orders of physical games. The vast majority of products they have up for pre-order on their site have been up and purchasable for many years, however they have shipped out a very low amount of copies of games. The biggest game they have sold to date is Chained Echoes by Mattias Linda.
Pre-orders Never Sent Out, No Response to Refund Requests
According to reports from many consumers[2][3][4][5], First Press Games almost never sends out the products they advertise for pre-order. They also ignore refund requests emailed to them. If an email response ever comes, it will be telling the sender to wait longer. Chained Echoes, the biggest game they've sold, have only shipped out a partial amount of the PS4 edition of the game, despite according to them they having the chips and cases for the Switch version of this game since 2024. It has been speculated that they use pre-orders as a pyramid scheme to fund new game releases, and only ship out games/produce games if they have the funds to do so from pre-orders. In short, essentially everyone who has ordered a game from this company from 2022 to now has not received what they ordered, and it is advisable not to order anything from this company, or if you already did, get a refund from your payment processor.
First Press Games's response
The company has claimed over and over various excuses[6][7] for not producing or sending out their games via their twitter account or blog, such as the COVID19 pandemic, printing service issues, lack of employees, and many more, but the multi-year delays and delays on sending out games they put up for preorder as far back as 2019 lend credence to the idea that this company doesn't intend to ever send out anything, or doesn't have the funds to do so, or if they do have the funds, want to keep these funds.
Lawsuit
The creator of Chained Echoes, Matias Linda, has announced[8] he will seek legal action against First Press Games due to their actions in not producing his game as many people are directing their anger towards him over their lack of delivery. However there is no further info or action as of yet.
Consumer response
Consumers are consistently reporting that they never receive anything from First Press Games, and that ordering from this company should be avoided as such.
